हाक
हाकारणे ही मानवी नातेसंबंधांतील एक आदिम प्रेरणा आहे. जेव्हा एखादी गोष्ट, एखादे निरीक्षण किंवा चिंतन आपल्या मनात फार काळ राहू शकत नाही, तेव्हा आपण हाक मारतो. व्यक्तिगत आयुष्यातील शांत कोपऱ्यात घडणाऱ्या काही घटनांची किंवा आपल्या सार्वजनिक जीवनातील विशिष्ट प्रसंगाची उजळणी करण्यासाठी आपण साद घालतो. इतरांना बोलावून गुजगोष्टी करत, त्यांचे प्रतिसाद घेत,आपण आपल्या कल्पनांवर विचार करतो आणि त्याआधारे कृती ठरवतो. पुढचा मार्ग आखताना मागे वळून पाहतो. अशा तऱ्हेने, हाकेद्वारे अव्याहत बदलत राहणाऱ्या भूत-वर्तमान-भविष्याशी आपण जोडून घेतो.
हाकारा | hākārāची २५वी आवृत्ती साजरी करताना ‘हाक । Call’ ह्या शीर्षकातील सार-संकल्पनेच्या विविध रूपांचा आणि त्यांच्या कलात्म अभिव्यक्तीचा शोध घेताना आम्हांला विशेष आनंद होत आहे.
घडून गेलेल्या एखाद्या घटनेला किंवा अनुभवलेल्या भावनेला प्रतिसाद देत आपण हाक मारतो. अशी घटना किंवा भावना इतकी महत्त्वपूर्ण, लक्षणीय किंवा महत्त्वाचा बदल घडवणारी असू शकते की तिचे विशिष्ट नामकरण करणे आणि इतरांशी ती सामायिक करणे आवश्यक ठरते. आपल्याला जाणवलेल्या सत्यतेची इतरांकडून पडताळणी करून घेताना, ‘इतर’ व्यक्तीपर्यंत पोहोचून तिलाही ‘तसेच’ वाटते की काही वेगळे, हे तिला हाक मारून आपण विचारून घेतो. हाकारण्याच्या अशा देवाणघेवाणीतून आपण अनुनाद शोधतो, खात्री करून घेतो, मान्यता किंवा निर्वाळा मिळवू पाहतो. साद देऊन स्वतःच्या अनुभवांबद्दल इतरांचे दृष्टिकोन जाणून घेताना, आपण केवळ सहमतीची अपेक्षा करत नसतो; तर आपल्याला पडलेल्या कोड्याची उत्तरेही शोधत असतो.
हाक ह्या संकल्पनेचे आणि हाक मारण्याच्या कृतीचे स्वरूप ह्याविषयी चिंतन मांडण्यासाठी हाकारा | hākārāच्या पारावर आपले स्वागत आहे.
निरंतर बदलणाऱ्या सामाजिक-राजकीय पटावर, व्यक्तीला किंवा समाजाला साद घालण्याचे कोणते मार्ग असतात ? एखाद्या छोट्या वा मोठ्या घटनेसाठी हाक देण्यातून आपल्या स्वत्वाचे इतरांबरोबरचे नाते कसे पुनर्भाषित होते ? जेव्हा एखादी हाक ऐकली जात नाही, किंवा चलाख व्यक्ती, व्यवस्था अथवा सत्ताव्यवस्था ह्यांच्याकडून ती दडपली जाते तेव्हा विचारवंत आणि निर्मिक म्हणून आपण कसे व्यक्त होतो ? आणि सरतेशेवटी, जे जग अद्याप अस्तित्वात आलेले नाही, अशा जगासाठी ‘साद घालणे’ म्हणजे काय असू शकते ? ह्या आणि अशा इतर प्रश्नांना समोर ठेवून आपले साहित्य जरूर पाठवा.

Call
To give a call is one of the most basic impulses of stimulating human connection. It is the moment we decide that a story, an observation, or a reflection can no longer be carried in silence. We find ourselves calling out to recount the events that have shaped us, both in the quiet corners of our private and collective lives. As we call, tell our stories, and listen to others’ responses, we reflect on our ideas and plan our actions. We look back as we plan the way forward. Thus, the calling is an act of engaging with the ever-evolving past, present, and the future.
We are especially delighted, as we celebrate the 25th edition of हाकारा । hākārā, to explore the diverse forms and expressions of ‘हाक । Call’, the essence of our title.
We call in response to something that has happened. It could be an event that feels so significant, so strange, or so transformative that it demands to be named and shared. We seek to have our reality confirmed, reaching out to the ‘other’ to ask if they too, felt the ‘same’ or felt the change. In this exchange, we look for resonance, confirmation, validation, or an assurance. When we seek the views of others on our own lived experiences, we are not just looking for agreement; we are looking for the missing pieces of a puzzle.
We welcome you to reflect on the nature of a call and the act of calling.
How do we call for individuals or societies amidst a shifting socio-political landscape? How have calls to events, either small or grand, redefined our sense of ‘self’ and our relationship with ‘other’? As thinkers and creators, what is our response to a call that has been unheard or silenced by manipulative individuals, systems, or the State? What does it mean to call for a world that does not yet exist?
